The Basel Institute for Economic Studies (IWSB) is an independent company that provides advice and research to public authorities, associations and private companies on economic policy and spatial science issues. The current Institut für Wirtschaftsstudien Basel AG emerged from the merger of the same-named GmbH founded in 2007 and Econlab GmbH founded in 2012.
