Switzerland's most unique pitch event – focusing on "Tech & Sustainability" on September 11, 2026, in Basel.
The Fähripitch is an extraordinary startup pitch event taking place on the evening of Friday, September 11, 2026, in Basel. Eight to ten startups will have the opportunity to present their business ideas on the St. Alban ferry, "Wild Maa."
What makes this format special: During the crossing, only the startup and the jury are on the ferry. Without presentations, screens, or other aids, the goal is to impress the jury with a compelling pitch alone. A Q&A session with the jury follows on the return trip. Each pitch and Q&A session lasts approximately three minutes.
The unique atmosphere on the ferry adds an extra layer of challenge to the pitch. The environment is intentionally distracting, making clear and engaging communication even more critical—much like an extended elevator pitch.
At the same time, the event is broadcast live to our venue at A66 (St. Alban-Anlage 66, Basel). There, attendees and other startups can watch the pitches in real time. Between the individual pitches, exciting keynote speakers and our host will keep the program dynamic. Afterward, an apéro provides plenty of time for networking and connecting within the startup community.
For participating startups, the Fähripitch offers a unique opportunity to present their company to an interested audience and a top-tier jury, receive valuable feedback, make new contacts, increase their visibility within the Basel startup scene, and, with a bit of luck, win one of the attractive prizes.
We are looking for startups in the tech and sustainability sectors. Projects should be beyond the initial idea stage, for example, having a prototype or early customers. The event is specifically aimed at young companies in an early growth phase rather than already established firms.
