IT’s ABOUT TECH#14: Tech is consuming ever more ressources — ways to escape the trap — with tech!

Technology is both a blessing and a curse. There is no question that digitalisation has made the world more efficient and exciting. However, it is also a hard fact that the hardware required for this consumes more and more resources (energy, water and land). Driven not least by the rise of AI, technology is locked into a trajectory that seems to know only one direction: demanding ever more resources.

‍
At our next event in the "It’s about Tech" series, hosted in collaboration with BaselTech and BaselCircular, we will look beyond the facts to showcase real solutions. We will explore how digital technology itself can contribute to tackling our most urgent challenge: to consume and waste less.
At the same time, we want to discuss how a greener tech could actually enhance Switzerland’s position in a global landscape that has become increasingly critical of Big Tech.
